3 to 4 days ago, Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam phoned me to discuss the above matter and what could be the possible causes. I told him that I was going to do a Press Conference on these issues. I related that the release of detainees could be one of the reasons and he conceded and supported my view. Please read today’s Star Newspaper (27/06/2012 – Page 12.
It is alarming to note that within a short span of time – violent and organized crime rates are surging tremendously. Every day the media have been reporting from various states – organized crimes like shooting, house breaking, snatch thieves with bodily harm and most recently theft of expensive hospital equipment. Women too are not spared, being attacked in shopping malls car parks.
Although PEMANDU reported a reduction of crime by 40%, it has received lukewarm by the Rakyat. In short, the Rakyat do not believe. I reproduce the following chronology of events.
