IN RESPONSE TO AG TAN SRI TOMMY THOMAS, YOU, YB TAN SRI ANNUAR MUSA APPEARS TO BE KURANG AJAR

29th November 2019.

PRESS STATEMENT BY:-
TAN SRI DATUK ROBERT PHANG MIOW SIN.
JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.
CHAIRMAN – SOCIAL CARE FOUNDATION

IN RESPONSE TO AG TAN SRI TOMMY THOMAS, YOU, YB TAN SRI ANNUAR MUSA APPEARS TO BE KURANG AJAR

Following the write up of yours concerning Chin Peng’s ashes, may I suggest that since you have so many questions on this issue and for you to learn more of the history of Chin Peng, I boldly suggest that you should do your utmost best to collect the information, positively and negatively so that you can have a proper account of what Chin Peng deed and who were his true enemies.

To the best of my knowledge of everything Chin Peng’s greatest credit was to form the Communist Party of Malaysia (CPM), who launched guerilla warfare against the Japanese Army during the Japanese occupation of Malaysia.  Is that not a credit to Malaysia? I may be wrong but you are a politician, this time air it out based on facts, no guessing facts – no tembak, tembak.

Our Paramount Statesmen, none other than our beloved YAB PM Tun Mahathir has already said that this episode of Chin Peng, ever since he died, everything should be put to rest at that.  YAB PM Tun Mahathir is a great statesman of Malaysian history.  Thank You, YAB PM Tun Mahathir for cemented such a historic statement.  Definitely, this will go down in the history books of Malaysia.

YB Tan Sri Annuar Musa, my suggestion is for you to get engaged with AG Tan Sri Tommy Thomas.  My word of advice, please base your allegations on actual facts or you are liable to be sued by AG’s office.  Speak the truth based on facts or otherwise SHUT UP.  In the meanwhile, if there is the slightest offence such as Defamation of Character, I strongly suggest AG to take up and charge YB Tan Sri Annuar Musa under Defamation Act so as to teach people of this caliber to speak the truth. The Rakyat is behind you, AG Tan Sri Tommy Thomas.

Meanwhile, YBhg Tan Sri Annuar Musa, please have the guts to apologize to AG Tan Sri Tommy Thomas, who is a good and capable AG, the Rakyat like him.  Do not ruin the Government under our beloved YAB PM Tun Mahathir.

REF: YB RONNIE LIU – YB TUAN ANTHONY LOKE, MINISTER OF TRANSPORT, YOU HAVE OVERKILLED THE ISSUE.

24th OCTOBER 2019

PRESS STATEMENT BY:-
TAN SRI DATUK ROBERT PHANG MIOW SIN.
JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.
CHAIRMAN – SOCIAL CARE FOUNDATION

It is really strange to note a practical statement made by YB Ronnie Liu, his opinion and comments on the leader of the country has been construed as discourteous and damaging.

Following the principles and wisdom of our Divine Rules of Democracy, that no man is an island, when you are a Public Servant, you will be bound to criticisms on the performance.

I hold my humble view that YB Ronnie Liu has shown his true commitments to practice and reflect his divine performance as a truly elected representative of the Rakyat.

Why punish him? Do you want all people to be “YES-MEN” within the Pakatan Harapan?  Surely DAPs have their set of rules as they are also elected by the Rakyat.

YB Tuan Anthony Loke, you have overkilled this issue.  In the first place, it is not necessary for YB to issue such a statement that YB Ronnie will be referred to DAP’s Disciplinary Committee.

If YB has to do it, do it by all means as this is a “family squabble’.  Always remember, an elected Member of Parliament, the fundamental principle of the natural justice, the right to speak and to reflect the people’s plight etc. should always be welcome.

Do not overkill the Divine Fundamental Principle.  By doing so it will reflect as if DAP is practising that there is no democracy in the DAP constitution.

The Rakyat will feel that YB Ronnie Liu  being referred to the party’s disciplinary committee is a means of trying to threaten all Members of Parliament and other duly elected leader to become mere “PUPPETS” – ONLY SHOUT WHEN YOU ARE TOLD TO DO SO.

This is not the way we want to live in.  Directly and Indirectly YB Anthony, you are making YB Ronnie a “HERO”.  I think the majority of the Rakyat will stand behind YB Ronnie, to speak out.  A lot of us are monitoring the situation closely.

YB Ronnie Liu, I will continue to pray and support you.

“HUMBLENESS IS A GOOD VIRTUE, ARROGANCE SHALL FALL AND THE MEEK WILL RULE THE WORLD”.

Penang to start building RM851m island highway project on Oct 31

GEORGE TOWN, Oct 11 — Construction of the much talked about RM851 million highway linking Thean Teik Expressway to the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway here will begin on October 31 with a groundbreaking ceremony, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced today.
He said the project will take three years to complete.
“Once they start work on the highway, which is package two of the whole project, we can now work on the processes to implement package one, three and four,” he told a press conference at his office.
The highway is part of the RM6.3 billion project which consists of an undersea tunnel and three paired road packages.
Package one is a paired road between Tanjung Bungah and Teluk Bahang, package two is a highway linking Gurney Drive to the Central Business District in George Town to the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway while the final package is the undersea tunnel linking Gurney Drive to Butterworth on the mainland.
The Penang government signed a preliminary agreement with Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd (CZC) in 2013 after calling for an open tender for the project.
Today, the state government signed a sub-agreement with CZC for the construction of package two.
Chow said package two, covering 5.7km, will connect the Ayer Itam portion of Thean Teik Expressway to the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway near the Marine Department.
He said 70 per cent of the highway will be elevated.
“The total cost of the project is RM851,040,000 and will be implemented on a lump sum contract basis,” he said.
He also said two plots of land had already been transferred to CZC for feasibility studies to be conducted and detailed design works of the undersea tunnel and highways.
“With this agreement, the state will wait for a claim by the consortium before the land from Gurney Drive reclamation will be ready to be transferred to the consortium,” he said.
Chow added that the first part of the claim is in relation to the land acquisition costs for the project.
CZC is still in the process of negotiating land acquisitions and could not reveal the total costs involved just yet.
Chow said a portion of Gurney Wharf has been identified for consideration as payment for the highway construction.
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the highways was approved on November 7 in 2017.
Chow said the highway project has to commence first before the EIA expires which was why the state decided that package two must commence by the end of this month.
The Penang state exco approved the signing of the sub-agreement for package two on October 2.
Works on package two will start at the Thean Teik Expressway first and it will by-pass housing areas and go across the hill to connect to Bukit Gambir Road, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and ending at the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
The highway is expected to resolve the daily traffic gridlock along the busy Air Itam Road and cut traveling time for those coming from the Penang Bridge towards Air Itam.

Daim very influential? Well, he’s a consultant, says Dr M

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 ― Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today acknowledged his long-time friend and ally Tun Daim Zainuddin as a highly influential person, amid cronyism concerns within Putrajaya.
However, the prime minister said Daim’s role as a government advisor and consultant is astute in both business and politics.
“He does have [influence], well he is a consultant. People need advisers. People with certain knowledge. And he is a man knowledgeable about businesses and politics with lots of experience and when we pay our RM1 trillion government debt, his expertise is useful.
“On the other hand, he has moved around and met people in and out of the country. He would be a good judge of the quality of people we should employ,” said Dr Mahathir said on BFM's the Breakfast Grille show this morning.
Dr Mahathir continued to defend the Daim even when it was pointed out in the interview that many people have observed that any decision concerning government-linked companies will not happen unless it receives the 81-year-old's stamp of approval.
The PM said that Daim's recommendation comes with good reason.
Dr Mahathir also dismissed questions concerning his close relations with certain corporate figures, including Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary, saying he meets “a lot” of people and that not all of them were apple polishers.
“It's not just Al-Bukhary. A lot of others meet me. They talk to me and criticise me. It's not just the Malays but the Chinese and Indians too,” he said.

Introduce integrity subject in public sector training: Lee Lam Thye

KUALA LUMPUR: A new subject on integrity needs to be included in the training programmes or education modules for civil servants as part of efforts to fight corruption, according to Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation senior vice-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.
He said it should also be part of courses conducted by the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan).
At the same time, he said, the government should introduce a new curriculum in schools to enable students to learn about the negative effects of corruption and why it is unacceptable.
“The timing is right because pure values and integrity should be instilled among the younger generation when they are in school.
This can help develop a culture of honesty and trust in future leaders,” he said in a statement today.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefaa Koya was reported to have said that 46.3% of the 4,860 people detained by the MACC from 2014 to June this year were civil servants.

Anwar does not agree with Zakir Naik's approach to preaching

The actions of independent preacher Dr Zakir Naik, who stirred a hornet's nest about Hindus and Chinese in Malaysia in a lecture, are uncalled for despite his intention to preach, said PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
"I do not agree with Zakir on this matter. I know he is preaching and there is a lot of good in it, but he should not have touched on racial issues in this country,” he said at a PKR Presidential Tour series yesterday.
Anwar said this when asked about his stand on the controversy involving the preacher.
The Port Dickson MP said Zakir should thank the government for providing protection for him to stay in the country.

Malaysia still far from being out of the woods, says Daim

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 5): Malaysia is still far from reaching the status of a developed country with unified citizens that is ready to face the industrial challenges of the future, says Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) chairman Tun Daim Zainuddin.
Daim said Malaysia is still playing catch up with the fourth industrial revolution when other countries are already gearing for the supposed fifth industrial revolution.
"Let us not be under any illusions. We are still far from being out of the woods. We are far from being ready for the changes happening around us.
"We are far from being a united people. We are far from being able to compete at the global level. We are far from being able to embrace differences and changes.
"And underpinning all of this unpreparedness is education," he said at the launch of the International Conference on Emerging Issues in Public Policy at Universiti Malaya's Institute of Public Policy and Management.
The former finance minister pointed out that education is the key to prepare the youth for the future. However, he said the education ministry has failed to prioritise the right issues to tackle, which has hindered the progress of reforms within the national education policy.
"We are still arguing over whether we should teach Maths and Science in English, when the rest of the world has embarked on advanced curriculums that focus on Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4) so as to make their youth more competitive and relevant in a world that is going to be dominated by artificial intelligence and robotics," he said.
"To participate in IR4, we must go through a knowledge-based economy and here Malaysia has failed because the government, through the Ministry of Education, has not got its priorities right. The Education Ministry must not fail our nation.
"While we are still mired in the political rhetoric of languages, others around us have moved beyond English or Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia into the language of programming and coding. When will we realise just how far behind we are and lacking?" Daim added.
In facing the rise of technology in industrialisation, Daim said the government should implement policies that create an environment where people are allowed to maximise their potential and pursue creative pursuits that are complemented by technology, not replaced by it.
The reality is, he said, technology will have the most impact on future employment as robots replace humans in menial tasks. But where one window closes, another opens, he added.
"Fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Robotics, Supply Chain Logistics, and Smart Manufacturing need skilled workers and indeed, the World Economic Forum has estimated that 133 million jobs will emerge as technology advances," he said.
At the same time, Daim stressed that education is not just for skills development, but it is also for the soul. He said the values that are instilled in the youth at home and at the school level will greatly impact the type of adults they evolve into.
"We must empower them with the ability to think critically, logically, wisely and to make their own informed decisions, no matter the situation. We must raise a new generation of leaders and great thinkers, not of sheep and cowards," he said.

No select committee so I appoint who I want, says Dr M

PUTRAJAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad has again defended his recent unilateral appointment of Latheefa Koya to head the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), saying it was because the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on Major Public Appointments tasked with approving such appointments is unable to function legally.
He said as such, the ultimate decision rests with him.
“Others can give views, but the prime minister decides,” he told reporters here today.
Mahathir said the select committee can only function once the constitution is amended.
“We don’t have a PSC. We intend to have a PSC, but to do that, we need to change some provisions in the Federal Constitution,” he said, adding that the government needs two-thirds support in the Dewan Rakyat to make the changes.
He was responding to a question on whether the top position in the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (Suhakam) will go through the select committee.
Mahathir today reiterated that he does not need to consult the Cabinet in making major appointments.
“I am not required to consult the Cabinet. I can ask for the opinions of various people, and then I decide on the merits of the case,” he added.
The move to appoint Latheefa drew mixed reactions from political leaders and activists, with many questioning the process bypassing the bi-partisan select committee.
The committee’s mandate is to scrutinise the appointment of public officials. It comprises six other MPs – Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Ngeh Koo Ham, Fong Kui Lun, Dr Hasan Bahrom, Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
It is set to meet this Thursday over the appointment of Latheefa as the MACC chief commissioner.

AN OPEN LETTER TO YB TUAN ANTHONY LOKE ON THE PROPOSAL FOR TINTED CAR WINDOWS.

To the best of my knowledge, this is a spontaneous plan it needs special planning if not further research before implementing as this will inevitably bring the following problems:-

1.    PDRM simply and strongly oppose to this introduction as it will definitely increase crime rate to rise.

2.    Such, we must understand and respect what PDRM has to say.

3.    No only PDRM but anti-crime NGOs must also be included to give their view points on this issue namely Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) needs to give their opinion on this matter, which will directly or indirectly bring many unnecessary problems to surface.

4.    This is nothing new – why do we need to introduce it? – is there a need to introduce it?

5.    The Ministry of Transport must do a careful precise investigation and study with the Rakyat, which has raised many objections

Well, I know that YB Tuan Anthony Loke is diligent in carrying out his work, sometimes think salient factors may be overlooked.

Over to you, YB Tuan Anthony Loke.
