I am a senior citizen and have seen many politicians come & go. Some were really devoted & productive – but there were also opportunists, hoping to become politician, MP’s /Aduns with their personal agenda. Even now there are still many plentiful within MCA.

What is important one needs to be far sighted, up right without personal agenda and prepare to speak an uphold justice without fear and favor.

In politics, unfortunately you are bound to have many.“Shoe Shine Boys”. Some speak because of given instructions by their bosses (Hopeless Type) – I do not know where do you belong?

Only for the sake of speaking then you are totally a useless chap. My advice to all young people, speaks only on need to. Otherwise keep your mouth “SHUT”. For sure nobody will say you are a DUMB & useless chap.

The MCA political landscape has changed. Chinese communities are no longer fools. We now OPEN our ears & eyes. What has been said by me recently is just a simple TEST but all of you are already RESTLESS.

How to win the Chinese back to support MCA. ???

You need to get your facts right before you write any article,otherwise you will appear like a fool or perceived by others as a typical " SHOE SHINE BOY"

Get your claws off Ka Siong - MCA tells 'busybody' Robert Phang


Social Care Foundation chairman Tan Sri Robert Phang is a seasoned veteran who always pokes his head into MCA’s affairs and insults our leaders. We deeply question whether he has any ulterior motives in doing so, and we strongly urge him to stop trying to disrupt MCA’s party elections as his behavior has disgusted us.

Without any prior provocation, Robert had suddenly decided to criticize our national Youth chairman, Datuk Dr Ir Wee Ka Siong. This is puzzling and as such, we request that Robert explain to the public whether or not he is pursuing his own political agenda behind the scenes.

On 21 June 2013, the Sultan of Johor himself had declared that he wanted the Chinese community to be represented in the state executive council, and this was done to reflect His Royal Highness’ wishes.

 However, Robert had acted on rumours by accusing Ka Siong of disrespecting the Sultan. There is a strong political motive behind this move, and Robert’s attempt to disassociate himself from this issue proves that he is trying to hide something.

MCA’s election is done according to the process of democracy, especially since our terrible loss at the 13th General Elections Nevertheless, this does not mean that MCA has given up. Our coming elections will provide us with an objective to attain.

 Despite our setbacks, MCA still holds on to its dignity and all its members will work towards protecting this.

Phang Wants Wee To Apologise To Sultan

KUALA LUMPUR: Social Care Foundation chairman Tan Sri Robert Phang today slammed MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong over his disrespectful remarks against Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

Speaking to the media in Ampang, Phang said that Wee in an interview with China Press yesterday had repeatedly reiterated what he had said before on the appointment of MCA’s Tee Siew Kiong as a member of the Johor state executive council.

On May 21, Wee had said that MCA members who were clinging on or want to take any government posts should be sacked, including Tee who was appointment as Johor exco member based on a request made by the Johor ruler.

MCA had previously agreed to sit out of all government posts in the event it did miserably in the 13th general election. Following its dismal performance, the party stood by its decision but Tee agreed to become a state exco meber following the request of the sultan.

Tee has been suspended from the party for taking the state position, while Wee had said that he was informed that the sultan had only wanted a Chinese representative in the state exco, and not necessarily Tee.

However, on July 1, the sultan, through his private secretary, urged all quarters, including MCA, to respect the decision made on Tee’s appointment. Sultan Ibrahim added that it was inappropriate to continue to question the power of the sultan as the state ruler.

“The sultan has came out with a statement. Why Wee is still talking about this matter? I view this as a clear and serious act of disrespect and it appears that he has misled the public. His actions is outrageous and deceptive,” said Phang today.

Phang then urged Wee to apologise publicly to the sultan over his action and advised Wee not to drag the royal institution over this issue again.

“I want him to apologise. That’s all. He has committed a criminal offence of sedition under the Sedition Act and criminal defamation under Section 500 of the Penal Code. As a Malaysian, he should apologise to the sultan,” Phang said.

Phang also requested for the Attorney General and the police to investigate Wee urgently on his disrespectful conduct against Sultan of Johor.

“Swift action is imperative so as to prevent such unacceptable behaviour and to stop others from challenging the privileges and rights of the Raja Raja Melayu,” Phang concurred.

To all the supporters who have been upholding the truth, justice and righteousness. More so to the episode that I was involved in, by a suit taken by Datuk Ir. Wee Ka Siong against me.

I append below the facts stated on record by the Learned High Court Judge, YA Dato’ Nik Hasmat Nik Mohamad on the 2nd of July 2013, which is a follows:-

1. The consent judgement does not state an apology to be given to Wee Ka Siong by me as I have flatly rejected such suggestions by him.

2. Was without admission of liability by me.

3. There was no order as to cost.

4. Wee Ka Siong has no liberty to file afresh on the similar issue against me.

In short, Wee Ka Siong failed in his suit against me. In his press statement carried by The Star newspaper, which carried a story portraying and implying that I had apologised to him. - contrary to what was reported, I can say: That I merely express “REGRET” that Wee Ka Siong has misunderstood my various statements made over in the press as follows:-

In conclusion and looking back Wee Ka Siong should be grateful to me because I had invited him to come forward to explain to MACC and PDRM in the investigation of PKFZ issue. As a result, he was subsequently interviewed by MACC where MACC probe finds no proof of malpractice by Wee Ka Siong.

Please read with your open mind and for sure, at best, Wee Ka Siong can claim only a phyrrhic victory. One will have to ask where is the victory for Wee Ka Siong and where is the apology for Wee Ka Siong from Robert Phang.

Phang: I did not apologise to Wee

KUALA LUMPUR: Social Care Foundation chairman Robert Phang said today that an apology to MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong was never a part of an out-of-court settlement reached with the former minister recently.

On Feb 9, Wee filed a defamation suit, naming Phang and the Star Publications as defendants over four articles published between Dec 25, 2009 and Jan 12, 2010.

Wee, the former deputy education minister, claimed that the articles were understood to mean that he was involved in, or committed corruption and abuse of power. Phang, 71, in his defence said his statements were fair comment and were made on an occasion of qualified privilege On July 2, both parties agreed to the out-of-court settlement with no admission of liabilities.

High Court Judge Nik Hasmat Nik Mohamad recorded the settlement in chambers. The court also did not make any order as to costs. Today, Phang hit out at the Star’s July 4 report on the matter, saying it was inaccurate and biased.

“The article appears to be a one sided, giving readers the impression that I had apologised to Wee Ka Siong and admitted liability as part of the settlement. This is wrong and unethical reporting

“I did not apologise to Wee and and there was no admission of liability on my part,” said Phang.

 “I executed a mutually agreed to settlement letter and in return Wee was to withdraw his defamation suit against me with no liberty to file afresh, and without admission of liability by me.

“I hope that the Star can report the whole thing again. Call me and I am willing to give the full version. They should retract the article and replace it with a fair story incorporating all key points,” said Phang.

Press Conference on 8 July 2013

1. This Press Conference is primarily aimed and in direct response to the story captioned “MACC PROBE FINDS NO PROOF OF MALPRACTICE BY WEE” at page 12 published in The Star dated 4 July 2013 (“the said Article”)

which carried an unbalanced and a one sided (skewed) story involving the settlement in respect of the above referred KL High Court suit which, despite my strong protests, was not acted upon by The Star, compelling me to call for this Press Conference. Full details shall be explained at this Press Conference.

2. The said Article does not publish a balanced story. It appears to be a one-sided article which gives readers the impression that I have apologized to Datuk Ir. Wee Ka Siong (“Datuk Wee”) as part of the settlement to end a defamation suit brought by the latter. This reporting has failed to take the entire settlement in its proper context with the true material basis being omitted.

3. The purpose of this Press Conference is to clarify the actual basis that I have entered into the settlement with Datuk Wee.

4. Our settlement is premised on a Consent Judgment dated 2.7.2013 recorded before the Learned High Court Judge, YA Dato’ Nik Hasmat Nik Mohamad, where the gists of which are as follows –

(a) I have executed a Settlement Letter dated 25.6.2013 (“Settlement Letter”) for Datuk Wee; and

(b) In return, Datuk Wee agrees to withdraw his defamation suit against me with no liberty to file afresh, with no order as to costs and without admission of liability by me.

5. The Settlement Letter together with the terms of the Consent Judgment recorded before the Judge, which have been marked as Court Documents, are now given to you for reference.

6. It is clear that the settlement was recorded with no admission as to liability by me, but The Star has omitted to highlight this in the said Article, and yet gave the impression that I have apologized to Datuk Wee.

7. The settlement is a “Happy Settlement” between Datuk Wee and myself. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with one-sided reporting as happened in the case here. I urge the press to observe responsible journalism where neutral approach should be taken.

8. In the true practice of professional journalism, the press should be fair to both parties in providing accurate reporting. Therefore, The Star should retract the said Article and replace it with an accurate reporting where the entire consent judgment should be taken in its proper context.

KUALA LUMPUR: Saman fitnah yang difailkan ketua Pemuda MCA, Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong terhadap Tan Sri Robert Phang selesai hari ini apabila kedua-dua pihak bersetuju menyelesaikannya di luar mahkamah.

Peguam Sankara Nair yang mewakili Phang memberitahu pemberita bahawa Hakim Mahkamah Tinggi Datuk Nik Hasmat Nik Mohamad merekodkan penyelesaian itu di dalam kamarnya.

Beliau berkata plaintif dan defendan bersetuju dengan penyelesaian itu, tanpa sebarang pengakuan liabiliti.

Mahkamah juga tidak mengeluarkan sebarang perintah tentang kos, katanya.

Pada 9 Februari lalu, Wee memfailkan satu saman fitnah dengan menamakan Phang, anggota Majlis Penasihat Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM), dan penerbit sebuah akhbar harian berbahasa Inggeris sebagai defendan berhubung empat artikel yang disiarkan antara 25 Disember 2009 dan 12 Januari 2010.

Wee, bekas Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan, mendakwa artikel berkenaan membawa maksud beliau terlibat atau melakukan rasuah dan menyalahguna kuasa.

Beliau juga meminta mahkamah menghalang defendan daripada memanggil atau mengandaikan beliau sebagai "seorang pembuli, pengecut dan pembohong", dan menuntut ganti rugi mengenainya.
