猴到人间万户春，雪消门外千山绿。值此新春佳节之际，我谨代表马来西亚彭氏总会和社会爱心基金会为大家献上最诚挚的佳节问候，以及最美好的新春祝福。

羊年对于马来西亚而言，是一个不平静的年。在这一年，对我们许多人而言，是个令人失魂落魄的一年。我们见证了政府和政坛上的错综复杂局势，见证了内阁改组副首相换人，见证了股汇两大市场大幅度起伏、国际油价大跌，听闻了国内丑闻接二连三地涌现，涉嫌恐怖活动份子被捕的消息时有所闻。与此同时，我们也开始感受到消费税实行后所带来的消费压力，市场也感受到老百姓的消费能力开始减弱了，眼看国家似乎要陷入凄风苦雨之境。

2016年伊始，这个星球上的北半球也经历了一场严寒，连中国南方的气温都跌到零下度数并且下起雪了。如此的天气，让人不禁想起我国的局势，是否也会经历一场严寒呢？

在猴年来临之际，尽管大家看淡大环境，但我们依然要在逆境中保持乐观的心态，只有这样，我们才有正能量度过最艰苦的时刻。我们必须抱持“雪消后见千山绿”的乐观心态，因为“乐观”才能让我们有足够的动力，继续在艰苦环境中奋斗。

无论是经济或政治，我国都面临严峻的考验，有鉴于此，我们仍然需要在乐观中保持一份谨慎。尤其是我们这群生活在这个多元种族国度的炎黄子孙，更必须保持高度清晰的脑袋，步步为营，我们才能做到“步步为赢”！

回顾东南亚和我国的历史，我们不难发现，在许多艰苦的时候，华人选民往往成为迁怒的目标。再加上政党和别有居心政客以操弄种族课题捞取政治资本，让华人轻易成为发泄的目标，因此，我恳请各位华裔子弟务必保持谨慎，慎言慎行，以避免被人利用或算计。华人素来都能顺应国情变化，顺应潮流，方才掌握了生存之道。华人追求的无他，只要求有个公平、和平的环境，绝不攫夺其他同胞的利益或权益。

在迎接猴年之际，我也恳请政治人物、政府阁员能够言行一致，口要对心，真正以国以民为重。政治人物更应该勇于担当，不应该为了混个一官半职、谋求权力而制造课题激化人民之间的对立，因为只有一个和谐的国家，全民一心，我国才能攻关克难，度过最艰辛的那一刻。

政府应该在百货上涨的时刻，协助人民应付的生活，只要人民安乐，国家就自然会太平。

羊兒剛剛飛蹄跑，猴年就要身邊到。

健康幸福不會少，快樂生活直到老。

值此新春佳节来临之际，我祝愿大家猴年行大运，今年更胜往年。

Decision to exonerate PM ignites a global firestorm

MP SPEAKS The cabinet at its meeting today must take cognisance and act on the government’s failure to resolve Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s twin world-class mega scandals by the end of last year and the national and international firestorm over attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali’s decision to exonerate Najib of any wrongdoing or crime and that no charges would be brought against him in both the RM2.6 billion donation and RM42 million SRC International scandals.

Far from Najib’s upbeat forecast in his 2016 New Year Message that his twin world-class mega scandals had been resolved and are no more issues in the country, the very opposite occurred as his RM2.6 billion 'donation' and RM55 billion 1MDB twin mega scandals have, in the month of January 2016, mushroomed to unprecedented levels.

As a result, both Najib and Malaysia’s credibility and image have never suffered such serious dent, both nationally and internationally.

Four months ago, in a historic statement on Oct 6, the Malay Rulers directed Putrajaya to ensure that the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal is thoroughly investigated and for those found guilty of wrongdoing to be punished.

The Malay Rulers also said that investigations must be made public in order to show that nothing was being hidden in the investigation into the state-owned investment firm.

Reference is made by UMNO Senator Mohd Ali Rustam, who has asked for disciplinary action to be taken against any MACC officers seen to be alleged involved in attempts to smear the image of the country’s leaders including that of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

I like to highlight that Mohd Ali Rustam, being a former Chief Minister of Malacca and current Senator should not have aired in a public article against MACC.  Instead should interact quietly with the MACC authorities to put the thing right.  What he was saying is literally, blatantly and clearly of hitting the MACC officers below the belt.  Surely but truly, MACC being a self-disciplined authority should not be blamed for carrying out their duties without fear or favor and I have read many times, Chief Commissioner of MACC, Tan Sri Abu Kassim said it. “MACC WILL CARRY OUT THEIR PERFORMANCE AND INVESTIGATION WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR AND WITH TRANSPARENCY”.

If the former Chief Minister of Malacca has not much to do, the public would like him to monitor and promote the spirit of Muhibbah amongst the various races in Malaysia.  Stop creating the likelihood of bias accusation against the MACC, knowing that their hands are tied and cannot retaliate.  Shame on you, Mohd Ali Rustam.

Please be a gentleman to express and say sorry to MACC and a word of reminder – please leave it to the professional authorities to carry out their performance and duties with transparency.  The Nation feels that you are nothing but hoping to seek the limelight at the cost of the suffering of the professional authorities.  Repent and apologize as the Nation is waiting. 

Along the line, I must congratulate Abu Kassim for being the Chief Commissioner of MACC, who has said, that he would rather resign from his post than attack his officers. Bravo for your wisdom and integrity!!!  MACC officer’s moral must be uplifted at all times.

The Nation can only conclude that you are a coward.
