呼吁希盟政府、敦马哈迪医生对上议院进行深度改革

换了新政府之后，大家都在期待希望联盟（希盟）政府可以在100天内带来巨大改变，然而，它执政的第一百日已经过了一半，我们仍然无法见到完整的内阁阵容，这正考验新执政联盟组合的精诚合作。

我个人认为必须务实地看待整体改革的问题；它是一项复杂而艰巨的大手术，并非如挤青春痘这般容易。

无论如何，我也希望，在选拔内阁部长的人选时，首相应以选贤与能作为选择根据，而不是为了满足固打需求而委任。我亦衷心希望，希盟的各个成员党都能接受这种遴选方式，才不会辜负大多数人民对新政府的期望。

人民在第14届大选选择了希盟，也意味着大家都渴望看到国家出现新格局。如果新政府依然以党团固打来委任内阁职务，无疑将令我国当今最高行政将陷入了“国阵2.0”的窘境。

希望希盟各员都能够如他们在中选前信誓旦旦所说的，只为人民服务，不为官位。到底是不是真的为大格局着想，服从首相敦马哈迪医生的安排，相信人民很快就会看出真相。我希望他们别让屁股决定他们的脑袋。

随着国会将于7月16日召开为期20天的会议，也意味着来临的上议院也将进行委任。因新政府上台，这将导致上议院大换血。我也希望，新的政府能够带来新的格局，在上议院委任方面，应避免任人唯亲，为免我国又再一次陷入恶性循环。

我也建议，上议院的委任也不应成为政党“派官位”的配额，而是应多考量委任愿意为国家服务的独立人士，才可以对政府政策起到监督之效。

在过去，在全国大选中落败的人，依然可以凭着上议员委任而晋身内阁部长一职，当时都被称为“后门部长”。如今，换了新政府，我们也拭目以待，是否会有后门部长重现。

上议院的功能在多年来一直备受争议，因此，它需要一个深度的改革，才能有效发挥作用。而我个人强烈认为，上议院议员的委任，不应该成为败选人士的“安慰奖”。这就是改革的第一步，希望首相敦马哈迪医生明鉴。

Najib accuses Guan Eng of 'outright lies' over TRX project

Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak had accused Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng of spreading "half-truths and outright lies" over the Tun Razak Exchange project (above).

This was after Lim said Putrajaya was forced to fork out RM2.8 billion to bail-out the project to ensure that it does not fail.

"While I am happy that the government has now decided to continue with the TRX project which will bring tens of thousands of new jobs and establish a world-class financial centre right here in Kuala Lumpur, I want to point out that Lim has been spreading half-truths and outright lies in his statement today about TRX City Sdn Bhd (TRXC), the owner of the 70 acres and 486 acres in the TRX and Bandar Malaysia land and projects respectively.

"Lim himself admits that even with a further 'up to' RM2.8 billion injection by Minter of Finance (MOF) Inc, the TRX project will be worth at least RM7.8 billion and show a profit.

"Surely it cannot be called a bail-out if the money is to be used to generate a profit?" he posed in a statement today.

Najib said MOF Inc's takeover of TRXC for a nominal sum of RM1 on March 31, 2017, from 1MDB was necessary for the latter's rationalisation plan.

He added that following the takeover of MOF Inc, it assumed the payment of certain 1MDB liabilities from April 1, 2017.

Suara Rakyat Adalah Paling Penting Berikutan Kerajaan Adalah Dipilih Oleh Rakyat

KUALA LUMPUR - Kerajaan perlu mendengar suara akar umbi sekiranya mahu menyelesaikan isu berkaitan dengan kebajikan rakyat yang telah dibeban dengan kos sara hidup yang tinggi.

Jelas bekas Lembaga Penasihat Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah, SPRM, Tan Sri Robert Phang, suara rakyat adalah paling penting berikutan kerajaan adalah dipilih oleh rakyat.

Pentadbiran perlu berpaksikan kehendak rakyat dan menyelesaikan masalah di akar umbi berlandaskan idea yang rasional.

Beliau turut memuji kepimpinan Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yang mengurangkan cukai perkhidmatan dan barangan, GST kepada 0 peratus, cadangan pemansuhan cukai pelancongan dan sistem pembayaran pinjaman PTPTN.

Pada masa yang sama juga, Tan Sri Robert Phang meminta supaya ahli dewan negara yang dilantik perlu bersifat neutral dan berbahas dengan rasional.

Beliau turut mendakwa di bawah kepimpinan yang lalu, ahli dewan negara yang dilantik tidak menunjukkan prestasi yang baik malah ada yang tidak mahir berbahas.

Dewan Negara juga perlu diangkat martabat sebagaj dewan yang paling mulia dan dihormati selaras dengan kematangan ahlinya.

Just a simple note to highlight to you, that our most respectful Mr. Robert Kuok of Kerry Group was back in town for a good occasion, meeting with our YAB PM Tun Mahathir and YABhg.Tun Daim Zainuddin. 

According to the media report, they had a wonderful and meaningful meeting.  The said. Robert Kuok is the same gentleman where you called him a “PONDAN” and “A MAN WIHOUT BALLS”. Furthermore you asked him to come back to Malaysia to challenge him. He was here for a few days but I did not see you challenging him. 

The Nation would like to know what has happened to you.  You seem to have a lot of guts and stones to throw but have not shown it at the right occasion.

Are you a coward or you have your own reason not to do it.  Please oblige the Nation with an answer.  We eagerly await your response.

I will continue to pray for your well-being and good health.

“只要拿出诚意为华社和华教谋求发展和福利，

不管黑猫白猫，我们都应支持！”

只要是真心诚意保障华社前途、保护华文教育发展出力和作出贡献的华裔候选人，不管黑猫白猫，我们全体华裔选民都应该大力支持，但我们更要警惕那些口惠而实不至的候选人，为免这类人拖累华社和华教的进步！

每一届大选，华文教育必定会成为课题，各阵营作出了一项又一项的承诺，但在选举之后华校依然必须在高压政策中挣扎求存。尽管我们在这一届全国大选，看到了两个阵营将“承认”和“接受”统考列入他们的竞选宣言，但若国家核心教育政策一日不改，我只能对华教未来的待遇保持审慎乐观。

两个最大阵营的竞选宣言所阐述的统考课题，似乎尚有许多保留，因此，我呼吁两边都拿出最真挚的诚意对待华教课题，而不是敷衍了事。双方阵营应该废除教育法令中 “统考是内部考试” 的说法，才算是实际的保障，也让统考能够和剑桥A水平考试一样，有更大的发挥余地。

随着高庭于2018年4月6日判决关丹中华考统考合法，而且无需预先依据1996年教育法令第69（1）条文取得考试局总监的书面同意。既然‘祝福’和‘默许’是有效的，那么独中统考是否从此以后就可自由开放给60间独中以外的学生参加？如此解读，上述法令条文是否就从此变的无关紧要，因此应该被废除。

我们都知道，当年政府设定有关法律，目的便是试图限制华教。既然已经有了上述判决，各参加选举的政党，尤其是国阵和希盟更应该拿出真挚诚意，承诺把不合理的“统考是内部考试”限制去除，才是真正保护独中。

此外，高庭判决是否就已经凌驾于法令之上？教育部长是否还可以依据有关条文执行法令所赋予他的权力？为了令广大华社安心，竞选的政党应该承诺废除相关不利华教的条文，无论那一边能够作上述宣布，我必定拼老命的支持，甚至为他们宣传助选！正如邓小平所说，不管黑猫白猫，能抓到老鼠的就是好猫。

董教总也应该根据法庭的判决，加大力度争取相关法律条文的废除，以一劳永逸应该争取的目标，而不是抓住一个法庭判决而沾沾自喜，否则，我们是否都有掩耳盗铃之嫌？一直活在侥幸心理之中？

当相关法令条文废除了，一旦突破了封闭性，统考不就可以比拟剑桥校外考试，而统考考试局也可以剑桥校外考试机构作为发展蓝本。今天的剑桥考试局是独立于剑桥大学的考试机构，它甚至也提供各类校外学位课程，希望董总和统考能够有朝一日达到如此的成就。

REDtone posts RM663,000 net profit in Q3

PETALING JAYA: REdtone International Bhd saw a net profit of RM663,000 for the third quarter ended Jan 31 compared with a net loss of RM3.62 million a year ago, mainly due to higher gross margin in managed telecommunication network services, coupled with lower operating expenses for the quarter.

For the quarter under review, the group reported RM27.3 million in revenue, which was 27.1% lower than the RM37.43 million reported in the previous year corresponding quarter, as managed telecommunication network services segment contributed lower revenue in line with lesser project activities.

For the nine-month period, it posted a net profit RM3.06 million against a net loss of RM7.41 million a year ago, while revenue fell 24.8% from RM115.14 million to RM86.63 million.

Given the macroeconomic outlook and the prevailing economic conditions, REDtone expects its operating performance to remain challenging for the remaining quarter of the financial year ended April 30. However, the group will continue with its focus on measures to improve operational efficiencies to improve profitability in the core businesses.

It also foresees improved contribution from projects in the pipeline in the managed telecommunications network services segment.
