A senior official of Yayasan Selangor has been remanded for seven days to assist Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigations into the foundation's 40th anniversary bash, said to cost more than RM300,000.Shah Alam High Court senior registrar Khairul Nizam Abu Bakar granted the remand order at noon today.
The officer, who is in his 40s, was escorted to the court by two Selangor MACC officers.He was detained by the MACC yesterday morning at his office at the foundation's 16-storey building in Petaling Jaya.The MACC team which went to his office had also confiscated several documents from it.The high cost of the bash was also reported to have earned the ire of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor, who cancelled his gracing of it.
