KUALA LUMPUR, 17 JULY, 2011:
Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) vice-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye
wants an integrated strategy to be formulated to tackle rape cases involving
children.He said there was a need for such strategy as
police statistics had indicated that seven of 10 rape victims were children.The public should take a concerted effort against
sex crimes against children, he said.
Lee was speaking to reporters after officiating a
project, 'Crime Prevention and Healthy Living Community Service', organised by
the Lions Group of Companies here today.Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri
Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to officiate a gathering of 1,500 youths in Melaka
on Saturday, to discuss the prevalence of crime among youths and how to overcome
it.Lee said the gathering would be themed, 'Youths
Unite Against Crime'.
