Don’t be ‘kurang ajar’, Salleh Keruak told

KUALA LUMPUR: Robert Phang, the founder and chairman of the Social Care Foundation has hit out at Salleh Said Keruak, the Sabah Speaker for making disparaging statements about former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad and has told him to show some respect towards one of Malaysia’s highly regarded leaders.

“Salleh Keruak, don’t be ‘kurang ajar’ to our nation builder! You are a very arrogant and irresponsible leader to make such statements.”

He also accused Salleh of being quick to forget the contributions of Mahathir who had done much for the country while he was premier.

“I am very shocked at what Salleh Keruak has said about Tun Mahathir. Has he forgotten the fact that Mahathir has contributed tremendously to the development and well-being of Malaysia?” he asked.

Phang, was referring to Salleh’s doomsday predictions regarding Barisan Nasional in the next general elections and the Sabahan’s personal opinion that Mahathir had to share the blame for the failure of Vision 2020, mostly because it was too idealistic in nature to succeed.

Incensed by these remarks that appeared on Salleh’s blog yesterday, Phang gave him a lesson in humility and admonished him by saying,

“You need to practice and implement the fundamental Malaysian tradition, that you respect your leaders.

“If you have any difference of ideas, seek advice or guidance from your leaders instead of lashing out in public.”

Phang heaped much praise on Mahathir and observed that Salleh had failed to follow in the former prime minister’s footsteps and had preferred instead to throw harsh criticism at him.

“Everybody knows Mahathir has a warm passion to guide and teach the younger generation. Why have you not chosen this path?

Instead you chose to write statements tantamount to query and insult,” he said. Phang also defended Mahathir’s blunt statements and attacks on Prime Minister Najib Razak’s leadership in recent weeks, saying he had every right to make his fears known as he only wanted what was best for the nation and to see Vision 2020 realised.

“I’m dismayed that you have not changed for the better,” Phang said of Salleh and added that even Najib would not have appreciated Salleh’s attacks on Mahathir.

“Najib was brought up with good family and traditional values; do you think Najib will appreciate your statements?” he asked Salleh. -

'AG Gani Patail interfered in MACC work'

Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail barred the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) from stopping its prosecution against lawyer Rosli Dahlan in the ‘Copgate affair’.

This was revealed in the High Court in Kuala Lumpur today by former MACC Corruption Prevention and Consultative panel member Robert Phang, who said this was related to him by MACC Chief Commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed.

Phang said Abu Kassim told him this during his tenure as a Corruption Prevention and Consultative panel member. He was on the panel from Feb 24, 2009, till Jan 27, 2011.

The witness was testifying in the RM50 million suit filed by Rosli against MACC for assault and wrongful detention.

Phang said Rosli had sent him a letter dated Nov 11, 2010, concerning a charge brought against him by the MACC in the sessions court in Kuala Lumpur in 2007.

“I raised this with Abu Kassim (left), who informed me that the MACC had no case against Rosli in the above prosecution, but he was prevented by the public prosecutor, who is Attorney-General Gani, from discontinuing with the prosecution.

“This is despite (MACC) being aware that the case would result in an acquittal.

“I believe there has been abuse of power, selective prosecution, abuse of prosecutorial discretion, malicious prosecution and prosecutorial misconduct by Gani in the handling of the case against Rosli,” Phang said in reply to questions by Rosli's counsel Chethan Jethwani.

Witness: MACC admitted there was no case against Rosli

KUALA LUMPUR: A prominent businessman told the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday that the criminal case against lawyer Rosli Dahlan proceeded at the insistence of Attorney-General Gani Patail despite the fact that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC) had concluded that there was no case to pursue against him.

Robert Phang Miow Sin, chairman of P&I Properties Sdn Bhd, was testifying in the on-going trial in which Rosli is suing the MACC, its officers and the Government of Malaysia for wrongful arrest, false imprisonment and a conspiracy to injure his reputation.

The case is being heard before Justice Su Geok Yam.

Yesterday, FMT reported Rosli’s own testimony to the effect that he had been collateral damage in the effort to eliminate former Commercial Crimes Investigation Department (CCID) director Ramli Yussoff, who was his client and friend.

Phang testified that he had served as a member of the Corruption Prevention and Consultative Panel of the MACC between February 2009 and January 2011.

He had in that capacity received from Rosli a letter containing representations as to why criminal charges preferred against him ought to be withdrawn.

Phang said that he raised the matter with Abu Kassim Mohamed, the current MACC Chief Commissioner, at one of the Panel meetings.

“[Abu Kassim] said to the meeting that as far as MACC was concerned, they had concluded that there was no case against Rosli,” Phang’s Witness Statement read.

“I questioned him as to why the MACC was still proceeding with the matter.”

His response was that the Attorney-General was insisting on proceeding, Phang statement went on.

“I was very surprised at the answer,” Phang’s testimony read. “I was actually so taken aback by his answer that I instinctively asked him how he could maintain that the MACC was independent if this [was] how they were acting.”

Phang said that over lunch that day, he queried Abu Kassim again but received the same response.

Under cross-examination by MACC’s counsel Cecil Abraham, Phang maintained that the matter was discussed at the meeting despite the fact that it may not have been properly recorded in the minutes of meetings.

“To the best of my knowledge, it was discussed,” he said.

Denying emphatically suggestions by Abraham that he had been asked to resign by the panel over an allegation of bribery of a senior government official, Phang said, “I volunteered to resign as a panel member because I strongly believe in quitting to preserve integrity.”

“Abu Kassim asked me to stay and let the investigation proceed but I refused to do so,” he added.
He testified that he was cleared by MACC of the allegations some time in 2012.

TAKING THE GOOD LORD FOR A RIDE (UPDATED WITH CHINESE TRANSLATION)

A couple of months back Malaysia Today showed pictures of A-G Gani Patail with Shahidan. In case you still have doubts, Malaysia Today will now show you how close they really are. They are so close that they deem it fit to seek atonement and go to God’s house in Mecca together

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Deep Throat Bukit Aman

RPK has always said that Malays are the worst lot of Muslims in the world. They take bribes, cheat, commit criminal breach of trust, plunder the nation’s wealth, and much more. They also rape, murder and even blow dead people up with military grade explosives.

And after doing all these evil deeds, they purport to repent and put on a public show of visiting God’s house in Mecca to seek forgiveness.

Yes, that is what they do. And they think that all their sins can be cleansed and that God will forgive them by that single act of being seen to be performing the Haj. I suppose it is that easy to take the Good Lord for a ride.

If you think it was bad enough that the former Chief Justice, Eusof Chin, and his wife, went on holidays with Lawyer VK Linggam. If you think it was revolting to see a picture of the arms of Correct, Correct, Correct Linggam on the shoulders of Eusof Chin while on holidays in New Zealand. Then you haven’t seen it all.

That indiscretion was good enough to warrant a Royal Commission of Enquiry to investigate the manipulations of Linggam in the appointments to the judiciary.

Malaysia Today has posted Parts 1 to 10 on the plundering of MAS, which resulted in a multi-billion hole in its fortunes. Malaysia Today has exposed that in the end it was the Director of the CCID, Dato’ Ramli Yusuff, and his lawyer, Rosli Dahlan, who were charged for relentlessly pursuing the case against MAS’s former Chairman, Tajuddin Ramli.

Until today Tajudin remains a free and wealthy man living in his ranch called Al Raudhah or The Garden of Heaven.

Malaysia Today has unravelled the link between Tajudin and A-G Gani Patail through the smooth operator who goes by the name of Shahidan Shafie.  Malaysia Today has provided the link between Shahidan’s adopted sister, Rizana Daud, who is married to Bistamam Ramli, Tajudin’s brother.

Malaysia Today has also provided the background of Shahidan — an ex-policeman who was charged for corruption in Johor Bahru.

Yet, today, he is the best of friends with A-G Gani Patail.

They say you must know how to choose your friends. Shahidan certainly does. What better friend can you have today in Malaysia, if you are a wheeler-dealer and underworld operator, than the Attorney General?

But then again with A-G Gani Patail he can be the best of friends with the highest bidder. He sells himself to whomsoever can satisfy his lust for money, money and more money. So that is what binds A-G Gani to corrupted former policeman Shahidan Shafiee, the riches that is thrown his way.

A couple of months back Malaysia Today showed pictures of A-G Gani Patail with Shahidan. In case you still have doubts, Malaysia Today will now show you how close they really are. They are so close that they deem it fit to seek atonement and go to God’s house in Mecca together. Or is this just another camouflage for the shenanigans that they are about to commit?

In this day and age, even a Holy place is not too sacred to hide deals that they are about to cut.

Did RPK not tell you that all the government agencies in Malaysia report to him? Now see this Tabung Haji list of Haj for this year.

Yes, A-G Gani, his wife, his son, and Shahidan, have gone for Haj together as a family. Right now, they are about to complete their Tawaf Wida’. This scumbag of an A-G knows no bounds. He will use his family as a camouflage for the evil things he does, even in the Holy Land.

In case you are still confused, let me explain this Haj list package as follows:

a) Kod Pakej PZ2 is the Zamrud package of 2 persons to a room;

b) The number 096 is the joint booking number. So Shahidan paid for the A-G and his family’s Haj trip;

c) The numerals 01-03 is the room arrangement.

So the A-G stays in one room with his wife and the A-G’s son, Faezul Adzra, stays in the other room with Shahidan. They are certainly family!

By the way, to ensure that he is safe after he retires, A-G Gani makes his son a Federal Counsel in the A-G Chambers. Talking about building a dynasty and taking care of his backside. And A-G Gani Patail is teaching his young government lawyer son that it is kosher to consort with criminals and wheeler-dealers so long as it is done secretly.

This scumbag A-G did not factor in that Malaysia Today will always find out his dirty deals.

Shahidan Shafie may think he is smoother than VK Linggam. But nothing escapes Malaysia Today.

Stay tuned and Malaysia Today will make more exposes on this scumbag A-G until a Royal Commission is set up to investigate the accusations that Datuk Mat Zain bin Ibrahim, the former Kuala Lumpur Officer-in-Charge of Criminal Investigations (KL OCCI), had said about A-G Gani Patail being protected by the MACC:

“It only shows that MACC and the Chambers are prepared even to go to the extent of affirming false affidavit to screen Gani Patail from legal punishment.”

I wonder whether they managed to con God into forgiving their sins. Maybe the infamous Perak Mufti can come out with a fatwah as to whether if you go for your Haj with dirty money your Haj will be Haj Mabruh or Haj Malboro.

Utusan apologises to Rosli regarding 'Copgate

After eight years', Umno-owned Malay daily Utusan Malaysia today apologised in open court for defaming lawyer Rosli Dahlan over what is now known as the 'Copgate’ affair.

However, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission who are named as defendants in the RM50 million suit, along with the government have refused to apologise and have opted for the matter to go to trial. They are also accused of assault and wrongful detention.

Utusan’s open apology was read out by its legal advisor Shirad Anuar.

With this, Rosli's suit against Utusan is settled on undisclosed terms. The apology read today is besides the apology printed by the Malay daily on April 15, 2008 following Rosli's arrest by the MACC's predecessor the Anti Corruption Agency (ACA) at his office a year earlier.

In their apology before Justice Su Geok Yiam, Utusanadmitted its news report which said that Rosli (left) had hidden the assets of a senior police officer (former Commercial Crimes Department director, Ramli Yusuf) and that he had not cooperated with the MACC in their investigations, was not true.

“Our said article has given a totally wrong depiction of Rosli as a lawyer who had acted in a manner contrary to the proper behaviour and ethics of an advocate and solicitor.
