Support, give time to new gov't to make positive changes - social activist

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) --  Malaysians  should give their support to the current government and allow them the time needed to make positive changes, said Social Care Foundation chairman Tan Sri Robert Phang,

He said the rakyat (people) had voted in a new government and now they must have confidenc in it.

“All rakyat should give enough opportunity and support the newly elected leaders so they will be able to perform their duties for the rakyat and the country.

“We should be united together and show our support in this, not just in words, but also actions,” he told Bernama.

Phang also hoped that the current leaders and ministers would not waste too much time exposing crimes and wrongdoings of the past government, adding that they should continue to prioritise  the government's reform agendas in line with the rakyat's aspirations.

"The ministers must realise the challenges before them and the high expectations the people have on them. The people are also watching and scrutinising.

"So don't waste too much time digging the crimes of the past government, let's us all move together towards nation building,” he added.
