SHAH ALAM:
Former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission advisory panel member, Tan Sri
Robert Phang, has filed a RM100 million defamation suit against ex-Inspector
General of Police, Tan Sri Musa Hassan (pic).
The suit was filed on his behalf by SN Nair &
Partners at the Shah Alam High Court here, today.
Phang, in his statement of claim, alleged that the statement issued by Musa at a Press conference held by NGO MyWatch last month, and subsequently published in the media, was untrue, and could affect the former’s reputation.
Phang also claimed that Musa labeled him as dishonest, untrustworthy and a liar.
In addition, Phang also claimed that Musa had described him as a corrupt, unethical individual who has committed crimes which is punishable by jail.
Musa’s statement, he claimed, were pre-meditated to tarnish his image.
Phang is claiming compensatory and aggravated, exemplary damages, and other costs and relief deemed fit by the court.
