Sex Take: Robert Phang Says No Need to Form RCI

KUALA LUMPUR, 24 MARCH, 2011: Tan Sri Robert Phang who previously announced to offer RM100,000 reward to anyone who is able to provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of one Datuk T’ for rumor mongering change has put his reward on halt since the identity of “Datuk T” has emerged yesterday.

“Since they (Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik, Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Datuk Shuib Lazim) had already confessed that they are Datuk T, then the offer is a gone case,” Phang said in a press conference held at Hotel Maya today.

My Press Statement Today – 24th March 2011 on “Datuk T”.

PRESS STATEMENT BY
TAN SRI DATUK ROBERT PHANG. Justice of Peace.
Chairman – Social Care Foundation

My Press Statement Today – 24th March 2011 on “Datuk T”.

I had issued an offer of a RM100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand) reward to anyone who is able to provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of one “Datuk T” for rumour mongering and causing public unrest.

Yesterday "Dato T" surfaced to identify himself. Thus, the offer is rescinded. At the same time, I call on the police to fully investigate this matter and for the AG to prosecute the right party once an offence has been identified. Underlying this whole thing is the principle of justice and truth. No one should be maligned publicly for certain objectives- whether political or personal. I made that offer because I had myself been a victim of such malicious rumour mongering and persecution. I am sure those who had suffered such venomous attacks would agree with me.

Our Minister for Communication YB Rais Yatim was recently such a victim. There were also others amongst the top echelons of our leadership. Thus, as a matter of principle we should reject such acts which would sink our country into the abyss of gutter politics as in the saying " Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you." Islam also condemns "Fitnah" (slander) as in the saying "Fitnah is worse that murder." The politics of this country is reflective of our mindset. Our leaders should be exemplary of how we should behave. If we are pre-occupied with perverse issues, do we want our future generation to do the same? Where will that bring our country?

TAN SRI DATUK ROBERT PHANG'S STAND ON HAJ PILGRIMAGE

I am a God fearing person and I subscribe to the fact it is definitely a divine deed for any Muslim to participate in the pilgrimage to Mecca.  This we must support, uphold and do not dispute as this a very holy matter.  More so, when it is between a Muslim and God, therefore ONE HAS TO BE ABSOLUTE TRUTHFUL AND DIVINE.

I wish to put on record once and for all, we must respect Muslims performing all the Islamic teachings, obligations and the pilgrimage to the All Mighty God.  THIS HAS BEEN, AND STILL IS MY UNDISPUTED CONVICTION AND STAND ALL ALONG.

However, I wish to remind that nobody should take God for a ride.  One can mislead and be deceitful to the Rakyat but certainly you cannot bluff God.

Stop practicing hypocrisy, and be truthful to your five times daily prayers to our only Almighty God.

God Bless.

Thank you.

Q1 - Lee Slim Shady (Blogger):

What happen to the case of V K Lingam, the first case that were reported by Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) to MACC, what MACC has done about it?

Robert Phang: It looks like me, sound like me, but it is not me. That is the answer. The operation committee has very well studied that case. We have the principle among our five committees, that any decision made by the committees, we do not want to get ourselves involve any further. The right person to answer this question is the Chief Director of MACC, Tan Sri Abu Kasim.

Teh Tarik Session With Robert Phang - 17th March 2011

Tan Sri Datuk Robert Phang Miow Sin is a former member the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel (CCPP). He resigned from the post recently amid the graft allegations that were leveled at him following his urging for an investigation into alleged corrupt practices in Malaysia Airlines (MAS). He said his decision to pull out from CCPP was to preserve his integrity as well as that of MACC.

As a panel of MACC, he was put to the task at assisting the investigation of the PKFZ scandals. He says that the legal action taken against the perpetrators in the case demonstrates the government's will to root out corruption and improve transparency. “In the end, it is about recovering as much taxpayers’ money as possible and the successful prosecution of all who exploited the PKFZ project for monetary gains.”

Phang who, is also Justice of Peace and chairman of Social Care Foundation (a charity foundation) is a strong believer and promoter of social justice and he will stop at nothing in his effort to uphold and practice righteousness with integrity.Come and join the Robert Phang for the Teh Tarik Session where he will be giving a talk on ‘Social Justice and the Prevailing Issues and Challenges in Fighting Corruption’.
