National Press Club donates RM3,000 to family

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Press Club (NPC) yesterday donated RM3,000 to the family of BernamaTV cameraman Noramfaizul Mohd Nor.NPC president Mokhtar Hussain said the aid was raised under the Journalist Welfare Fund to help pay expenses for the slain cameraman's family.

"We hope the donation would at least help ease their burden for now," he said after the donation was handed over to Noramfaizul's widow, Norazrina Jaafar, 37.He said the club would soon launch a campaign to collect donations from the public for the BernamaTV cameraman's family.
"I hope Malaysians, whom we claim to be generous people, will lend a helping hand to assist the family."

Social Care Foundation chairman Tan Sri Robert Phang Miow Sin also came to the house yesterday to donate RM50,000 to the family."It is for the family of a fallen Malaysian who deserves not only our sympathies but also our financial support to go through life," he said.
