Press statement by Tan Sri Datuk Robert Phang - 23-10-2010

The frustration expressed by Datuk Shukri Abdull , MACC Deputy Chief Commission , raises the difficulties of fighting corruptions. It is an open fact that we need all walks of life, all sectors, all authorities and the rakyat to come forward working together in achieving this difficult challenge. It is by NO means that I questione the judiciary but to appeal to them to demonstrate more patience to establish of all factors of MACC corruption cases being brought before the courts of law.

We all know the DPP set in each cases must be evidence of more than 90% being considered for prosecution in short, the case of issued for prosecution is really strong  & at least,  prime facie evidence & the accused would be called for self defense . The rakyat will definitely feel very frustrated and disappointed. We all know searching for evidence is indeed very very  difficult & I appeal  & I pray that JUDGES may need to look at “ Intrinsic Evidence “ thoroughly whether the element of corruption prevails. Lastly I appeal we must participate and work together to eradicate the serious corruption issues in our country.

GOD BLESS MALAYSIA

Thank you.
