1. 前副首相丹斯里慕尤丁雅欣曾矢言,对巫统而言,是以1个马来人为先,1个马来西亚为次;
2. 马来人大集会的主办单位和参与者做出了种种的损害,诸如向华人喊出激进种族性污蔑口号,类似“华人猪”、“外来者”及“回中国”等;

BN needs Chinese support to stay in power, says philanthropist
Outspoken social activist-cum-philanthropist Tan Sri Robert Phang stressed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his BN government must work hard to earn the trust.
He warned that a change of government is possible in the coming 14th general election if Najib and his team failed to do so.
The founder and chairman of the Social Care Foundation warned of this in his letter to Tan Sri Joseph Kurup, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of national unity, recently. He also posted his statement on his Facebook account today.
“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had said many times that his government and himself need the support of the Chinese community.
“Our nation understands where he is coming from. Granted there is a split within Umno, the support from the Chinese community will be important and inevitable.
“Datuk Seri Najib must know that he is the PM for all races. He has never been seen to stop or contemplate to stop the unhealthy and dangerous slogans, plus street rallies by the pro-Malay group, shouting in the streets sensitive slogans.
“We can understand that PM needs the support from the Malay supporters, too.”
Phang added that the Chinese community in Malaysia had now awakened and they realised that they needed to unite to be a strength and a voice to be heard.
“This is the only strength of the Chinese community.”
He also opined that it would be an uphill task for the BN government to garner the genuine support of the Chinese community, which made up 23.7% of the total population, because of the following reasons:
1. The proclamation by the ex-Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin that as far as Umno was concerned, it was 1Melayu first and 1Malaysia second;
2. The bad and damaging experience in the past few pro-Malay rallies where such racist and inflammatory remarks like “Cina Babi” (Chinese pigs), “Pendatang” (Foreigner) and “Balik Negeri Cina” (Return to China) were hurled at the Chinese community by the organisers and participants;
3. The ugly racial incidents at the Low Yat Plaza and Petaling Street had traumatised the Chinese community.
These had also given the international community a negative impression that the present government is incapable of being fair to all Malaysians, Phang claimed.
On the Prime Minister’s call, urging the Chinese community to support the BN government, Phang said this would not work.
“95% of the Chinese community of today do not want to consider voting for MCA for the forthcoming GE14.”
To address this problem, he urged the Prime Minister to ensure equality for the Chinese community and be seen to speak out loud and stop the sensitive issues and slogans at all cost.
“There should be no more rallies from the Malays as it will have a negative impact and definitely invite serious racial problems. If no action is taken, it will destroy Malaysia. That is highly possible and not a dream.”
Besides this, Phang also urged Kurup to identify some independent respectful Chinese leaders, who were accepted by the Chinese community, to go down to the ground to communicate and invite them to participate in solidarity issues — to draw up a plan for the Chinese where their welfare, education and well-being will be looked into.
“It has reached a stage where the Chinese community has said enough is enough.
“If this is the voice of solidarity from the Chinese community, needless to say, it is the duty of the government of the day, including your ministry, to promote and implement.
“If this is not done, I can boldly say that the next GE will see a change in government.
“That is my personal feedback and view. Solidarity can only be achieved provided bold and effective changes take place as soon as possible.”

Malaysia’s ‘most powerful’ person under probe, says MACC
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is in the midst of investigating the most powerful person in the country, says outgoing deputy chief commissioner Datuk Seri Zakaria Jaffar.
He said this person was investigated in relation to Finance Ministry-owned firm SRC International Sdn Bhd, and a sum of money worth RM2.6 billion.
"We are faced with an investigation that involves the most powerful person in the country," he said today in his retirement speech at the MACC Academy in Kuala Lumpur today.
"Everyone is in the know that we are carrying out the biggest investigation since 1967. The officers involved need the full support to work in this very difficult field," said Zakaria, who retires today as deputy chief commissioner (management and professionalism).
SRC International was former a subsidiary of state investment firm 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and was later placed under the finance ministry.
It drew controversy for taking a RM4 billion loan from government pension fund, Retirement Fund Incorporated.
The RM2.6 billion fund was reported by The Wall Street Journal to have been transferred to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's personal accounts. MACC has already confirmed the funds as a political donation from an unknown Middle Eastern donor.
It is not known what the money has been used for, although Najib said he was holding the funds in trust on behalf of Umno.
In his farewell speech, Zakaria also touched on “attacks” against the agency’s officers over suspicions that MACC had been responsible for leaking information on the probe into 1MDB.
This was after The Wall Street Journal, citing information from government investigators, reported in July that RM2.6 billion had been transferred into Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s personal bank accounts.
The special operations unit of the MACC was raided and several of its investigators detained for questioning. Two MACC officers were also transferred but reinstated after an outcry.
“Such a thing should never have had happened.”
He urged the agency’s investigators involved in the probe into SRC International and into the RM2.6 billion not to waver.

I'll see you in court, Ling tells Najib
Former MCA president Dr Ling Liong Sik will not apologise for calling on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to resign.
"I say to the prime minister, if you choose to sue me, I will defend myself. In all humility, I accept your challenge.
"I look forward to seeing the prime minister take the witness stand, as no doubt he would do if he says his reputation is at stake.
"I want to reiterate that I stand by what I said. I would not apologise," he said in a statement today.
The former MCA president also said he was "extremely surprised" by the legal letter, and the subsequent media coverage of it.
Najib on Monday threatened to sue Ling if he did not retract his statement and apologise within seven days.
During an event over the weekend, Ling said he agreed with Mahathir's call for Najib to step down because "he has taken people's money and put it in his own personal accounts".
Ling also made a brief appearance at a Bersih 4 gathering in Perth, which among others called for the prime minister’s resignation.
Yesterday, another former MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek told Malaysiakini that Ling had an axe to grind with Najib after he was charged in connection with the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) case.
Chua also said that being a long-time associate of Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Ling is more indebted to the former premier than Najib.
Mahathir has repeatedly demanded Najib's resignation.
Najib is embroiled in controversy over the deposit of RM2.6 billion into his personal bank accounts.
The prime minister has denied taking public funds for "personal gain" while his supporters claim the massive deposits were "political donations" from the Middle East.
Malaysiakini has contacted Najib's lawyer Mohd Hafarizam Harun and is waiting for his reply.

Rulers want 1MDB probe wrapped up, wrongdoers punished
The Conference of Rulers has decreed that the investigation into 1MDB be completed as soon as possible and the wrongdoers, if any, be punished.
"The findings of this investigation must be reported in full and transparently, so the people can be convinced of the government's sincerity that it will never hide the facts and the truth.
"Failure to give an explanation and satisfactory answers may cause a confidence crisis," reads the statement from the rulers, issued today by the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal, Syed Danial Syed Ahmad.
"As a result, the rakyat believe, either as reality or perception, that it is one of the main reasons that influenced the ringgit's sharp downfall, which has given a negative impact on the country's financial market and economic climate while affecting the world's view of Malaysia," they added.
In the joint statement as reported by Bernama, the Malay Rulers also asked all responsible parties to give their full cooperation so that the purpose of the investigation is fulfilled.
They said if the 1MDB issue is not dealt with intelligently and continues to drag on, it will damage the economy and the people's welfare.
They fear it may even cause public unrest.
US financial daily The Wall Street Journal has reported that 1MDB funds had made their way into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank accounts.
Najib, however, denied any wrongdoing or that he had used 1MDB funds for personal gain.

Najib gets bad press abroad ahead of UN address
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is attracting negative headlines in leading publications abroad ahead of his address at the United Nations general debate in New York on Oct 1.
Asia correspondents in top Canadian and Australian newspapers are zeroing in on Najib’s “alleged scandals”, with Canada’s The Globe and Mail describing the PM as having “flailed desperately".
The Sydney Morning Herald headline ominously reads: "Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak's inevitable fall".
In a scathing semi-analysis yesterday, The Globe and Mail’s Asia Pacific correspondent Iain Marlow accused Najib of being “unfit to lead a democracy” and ruling as a “pseudo-authoritarian”.
“Despite other actions that make him (Najib) unfit to lead a democracy, such as repeatedly jailing his main political opponent, a former deputy prime minister, on trumped up sodomy charges, he now finds himself at the centre of an ever-expanding series of corruption probes that have brought Malaysian politics to a standstill - and also threaten to bring his pseudo-authoritarian rule to an end,” Marlow wrote.
Najib’s leadership is “untenable”, even if investigations into 1MDB locally and abroad find anything untoward, he wrote.
Similarly, Sydney Morning Herald’s Southeast Asia correspondent Lindsay Murdoch wrote that Australia is “set to lose its heavy bet” on Najib, having earlier been swayed by his moderate, reformist international persona.
Like Marlow, Murdoch described Malaysian politics as having descended into “dysfunction” with Najib in Seri Perdana.
Najib has "used blunt force" to stymie investigations into the RM2.6 billion found in his bank account, while "refusing to explain what happened to the money", he wrote.
“Najib's fall – whenever it eventually comes – will impact Australia's foreign policy priorities at a time Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is pledging to take advantage of the Asian Century through innovation, science and technology,” Murdoch wrote.
Last week, leading United States newspaper The Washington Post in an editorial urged US President Barack Obama to reconsider his friendly relations with Najib.
The editorial, which came days after the Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu rally, said Najib is “pandering to racists and Muslim extremists”.

Wisma Putra cancels call for meeting with Chinese envoy
Wisma Putra has cancelled its call for a meeting with ambassador of China, Huang Huikang, reportedly after it was vetoed by acting Foreign Minister Hamzah Zainuddin.
Chinese dailies reported that the call, issued by Deputy Foreign Minister Reezal Naina Merican, was overturned by Hamzah.
Hamzah was Deputy Foreign Minister until July's cabinet reshuffle, in which he was appointed domestic trade, cooperatives and consumerism minister.
Huang was caught in the diplomatic flap after he said that while China does not intervene in domestic affairs, it will not sit idly if it affects its local interests.
The envoy said this during a visit to Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur, one the eve of a later aborted rally planned by a Malay group.
The remark was seen as foreign intervention, but Huang explained it was only a goodwill visit.
Sin Chew Daily reported Huang that did not receive an official summon from Wisma Putra, although the Foreign Ministry issued a press statement yesterday to confirm it is calling the envoy for an explanation.
China Press also quoted sources as saying that Huang would not be heading to Wisma Putra in Putrajaya today.
Huang is scheduled to attend a forum in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
Malaysiakini has contacted Reezal and Hamzah for their response.
China Press reported that Nazri had slammed Reezal for taking action on his own, describing it as "stupid".
The report said Nazri contacted a few ministers on the matter including Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, and that he would be flying to Italy to meet Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today.
Nazri met Huang yesterday through a meeting arranged by some Chinese businessmen, and discussed the matter for more than an hour, it was reported.
Several foreign ministry officials also attended the meeting.

(Color
